Reattachment of the triceps to the elbow (double-row) with ulnar nerve monitoring

Reattachment of the triceps tendon is indicated in cases of complete or symptomatic rupture. Performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia, the procedure involves securely reattaching the tendon to the olecranon using a double-row technique, which allows for better distribution of stress and a robust fixation. The ulnar nerve, located close to the surgical site, is systematically monitored and protected to minimise the risk of neurological damage. Initial immobilisation is followed by gradual rehabilitation. Recovery of extensor strength is generally achieved within 4 to 6 months, with a return to sporting activities and strenuous exercise around the 6th month.
